LOCAL SALES MANAGER - FOX 5/WNYW & MY 9/WWOR
Responsibilities - Shared responsibilities for sales for both FOX 5 and My 9 New York. Oversee local selling efforts, packaging and pricing; Develop and implement strategic game plans to achieve station goals; Analyze rates and inventory; Develop and seek sales opportunities, specials, retail activity, co-op efforts, rate strategies due to market conditions; Recognize and develop new business targets, internet and multi-platform opportunities; Evaluate salespersons abilities and adjust agency assignments to maximize sales revenue; Receive and disseminate information to/from General Sales Manager all industry trends, conditions and changes, competitive program moves or new situations and rate changes.
Requirements – Minimum 7 years broadcast sales experience preferred; Strong organizational abilities, polished presentation, speaking and negotiation skills; Good communication skills and the ability to develop relationships; Must be detail and deadline oriented; New York Rep and Local Station experience and Management experience preferred; Network and Local Sports sales experience a major plus; Knowledge of Scarborough, CMR TV scan and Internet.
SEGMENT PRODUCER - FOX 5/WNYW
Responsibilities - Select topics and guests for Good Day New York lifestyle segments; Pre-interview guests, research topics and write scripts for tape pieces and studio guests.
Requirements - 3 to 5 years package production preferred; Individual must be detail-oriented and a self starter, who can take often complicated subjects and make them interesting and lively through two hours of live television; Must be flexible with days and hours; College degree preferred.
PAID PROGRAMMING ACCOUNT COORDINATOR - FOX 5/WNYW & MY 9/WWOR
Responsibilities - Responsible for the administration and coordination of paid programming for WNYW & WWOR-TV; Liaison between the Stations and Fox Stations Sales; Work closely with National Sales Managers, Programming, Traffic and Finance departments to ensure that paid programming spots are reviewed, approved, paid for, scheduled and air correctly; Responsible for maintaining account files, processing orders, revisions and cancellations. Responsibilities also include researching and resolving discrepancies; Responsible for handling credit issues for accounts; As position evolves, will be responsible for selling paid programming; Other duties as assigned.
Requirements - Must be extremely organized and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be detail oriented; Must be highly motivated and have an interest in becoming an Account Executive. Solid computer skills; Knowledgeable with MS Office (Excel, Word) software a must; Ability to work well under pressure; College degree with previous sales experience preferred; Familiarity with programming rate and demographic a plus.
WEB TRAFFIC SALES COORDINATOR (Secaucus, NJ)
Responsibilities - Responsibilities include inputting and reporting on sales orders for owned and operated sites across the country; Entering all internet sales orders into traffic system, DART Enterprise; Run ad-hoc reports on activity of ads and projection of sites and advertiser performance; Entering orders, providing detailed reporting on sales inventory, in traffic system; Creating and generating research-like delivery reports, gathering data via traffic system or queries created to run in Excel.
Requirements - Problem-solving skills a must; Ability to work with sales to achieve revenue goals and troubleshoot; Must have prior experience in Broadcast/Cable TV, Radio or Internet Traffic or Sales assistant/planning; Degree preferred; Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook; Knowledge of Internet traffic systems a strong plus (especially DART Enterprise); Knowledge of television traffic systems also a plus; Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; Must possess strong organizational skills, detail-oriented and able to handle multi-task responsibilities and demands; Good organizational and project management skills; Ability to work effectively in a high pressure environment with minimal supervision.
PROMOTION WRITER/PRODUCER – MY 9/WWOR-TV
Responsibilities - Write, produce and edit high quality news and programming promos in a fast paced environment as directed by department managers; Write and produce topicals when needed; Other promotion duties as assigned.
Requirements - Must have a minimum of 3 years prior television experience in promotion with an emphasis on news; Excellent creative writing skills required; A degree in Communication or related field also required; Must have good working knowledge of broadcast graphics and equipment; Strong non-linear editing skills required; Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends; Must demonstrate strong creative writing skills and be able to multi-task; Requires a highly motivated and creative individual capable of working under strict deadlines; Able to work well in a creative team environment.
JIB/STUDIO Handheld Camera Operator – FOX 5/WNYW-TV
Responsibilities – Candidate must be able to set-up and operate jib; Must be well versed in various models, sizes and configurations; Utilized for both for studio and remote productions; Operator will have knowledge and experience of both the operational and technical aspects of jib use; Additionally, candidate must poses knowledge and skill in the use of handheld cameras in studio and remote productions.
Requirements - Five years experience at a broadcast or production facility in the above capacity; Ability to work in a team environment and thrive under a deadline driven system is essential; Good interpersonal skills with a strong emphasis on communication with producers, directors, associate directors, managers, talent and various members of a News production team is required; Candidate must be able to work efficiently in the stressful, fast paced world of live news telecasts and breaking news; Ability to lift 75lbs., climb stairs, and ladders required; Candidate may be asked to work at remote locations and may be required to sit, kneel or stand for long periods of time; Additional production related activities may be assigned; Must be able to work flexible hours, days and work location based on operational needs of the station.
GROUP RESEARCH MANAGER - FOX STATIONS SALES
Responsibilities - Responsible for group of FSS stations in coordinating the research efforts between the stations and representatives; Duties include the overseeing of timely and effective estimates regularly, distribution, uploading and analyzing of ratings trends via ratings books and overnights; Update Sports and Specials tracks on a regular basis and all sales related information in the FSS intranet system-Medianet; Work closely with VP/Research Director, analysts, assigned sales team managers and account executives.
Requirements - 3-4 years Research/Marketing experience at a rep firm, station or related company; Candidate must have strong knowledge of Nielson methodology and related products and a background in working with qualitative research adn CMR; College degree required, as well as PC skills in Excel, Word and Power Point, etc.; Good writing and math/analytical skills.
PHOTOGRAPHER/EDITOR (2) - FOX 5/WNYW-TV
Responsibilities - Photograph and edit news stories, special events, and microwave live shots as assigned by the News department; Operate ENG cameras and editing equipment (linear and non-linear); Operate ENG microwave live van, setting up live shots for news and special events; Operate station owned vehicles, two-way radio system in station vehicles, microwave and satellite transmitters and receivers for the transmission of news stories; Understand the use of lighting, photographic, audio and editing techniques as required in news production.
Requirements - College degree or equivalent in journalism or broadcasting; Two to three years experience as a news photographer/editor; Knowledge of basic journalism and production techniques; Familiar with the operation of Sony Beta Sp and Avid Non-linear equipment; Demonstrated ability to consistently use good judgment and decision-making skills; Proven record of dependability, ability to consistently meet deadlines; Ability to lift heavy equipment and climb stairs; Drivers license required.
ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR (2) - FOX 5/WNYW-TV
Responsibilities - Associate direct live and recorded News and entertainment programming as assigned, including but not limited to: preset cues, timings and back timings, giving time cues, coordination of all audio and video elements; Able to ready all graphics, animation and camera shots; Coordinate and communicate program transitions to and from Master Control, studios and remotes; Direct pre-production; Ability to fill Director's position when necessary; AD live events in Master Control.
Requirements - Individual must have minimum of 5 years experience as a live News AD in a major market; Applicant must be able to work all hours, days, varying shifts and overtime as required; Candidate should be highly organized, detail- oriented and responsible with the ability to work quickly and accurately in a high stress environment; Must be a teamplayer.
VIDEO / ROBOTICS OPERATOR - FOX 5/WNYW-TV
Responsibilities - Candidate must be able to configure, operate and maintain studio cameras for daily News productions by effective use of camera setup, alignment and shading controls; Interact with lighting personnel, directors and talent to enhance the overall video appearance of the production; Program, operate and maintain camera robotic systems; Additional duties include set-up of video monitors, plasma / LCD monitors, teleprompter systems, remote cameras and camera pedestal mechanics; Candidate must also be able to function as a Floor manager and Audio operator.

ENGINEERING TECHNICAL DIRECTOR - FOX 5/WNYW-TV
Responsibilities - Perform television broadcast technical duties as a control room Technical Director for live News and event broadcasts as well as recorded productions.
Requirements - FOX is looking for a motivated, creative candidate that has at least 4 years experience, in a major market, as a control room Technical Director, switching live News. The professional that we seek must be a proven leader who is an effective communicator and works well across department boundaries. The successful candidate must have a proven record of producing high standards of quality while maintaining a clean air product. Work hours and days off may vary; work may be outdoors or at remote locations. Knowledge of control room operations, Grass Valley switchers, Kaleidoscope DVE and AVID Servers is a must. Knowledge of Newsroom and Master Control automation systems is a plus.

FOX Television Stations, FOX 5/WNYW and My9/WWOR offers a hands-on six month training program for College Graduates interested in obtaining valuable experience in the various fields of Television Broadcasting. This training program requires no previous broadcast work experience, thereby, when the six months training period is completed, the goal is to provide the trainee with the prerequisite skills to acquire an entry-level position in the broadcasting field.

FOX Television Stations, FOX 5 WNYW and My9 WWOR has an ongoing internship program for college juniors and seniors majoring in broadcast communications and/or journalism, as well as other areas. Individuals have the opportunity to learn from trained professionals in various departments. Students must be able to receive college credit in order to be eligible for the program.
