Giants fans headed to Indianapolis to cheer on Big Blue with their AT&T smart phone will be the most connected Super Bowl in history,.
AT&T has announced that it is making permanent and temporary wireless network enhancements - including adding capacity to nearly 200 cell sites – that will allow fans to use their smart phones around Lucas Oil Stadium, the site of the big game.
That's in addition to having launched AT&T 4G LTE network in Indianapolis, providing mobile broadband speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G.
AT&T's Wi-Fi Hot Zone covers much of downtown Indianapolis and provides fast and reliable Wi-Fi.
AT&T has also launched an expanded Distributed Antenna System (DAS) at Lucas Oil Stadium, among the largest of its kind in the U.S., enabling 4G LTE coverage within the stadium. This DAS system carries more traffic than 10 cell sites.
AT&T is also rolling out nine Cells On Wheels (COWs) systems for extra coverage.
