After a first round of going through their questionnaires, the pool of prospective jurors has been shrunk to fewer than 150 for the trial of a former Rutgers student accused of using a webcam to spy on his roommate's intimate encounter with another man.

Judge Glenn Berman and the lawyers in the case agreed to eliminate about 50 members from the pool Tuesday morning because of the views they expressed on their paperwork. Berman said most of the jurors were aware of the case against 19-year-old old Dharun Ravi (DAHR'-uhn RAH'-vee).

The case sparked a national conversation about the impact of bullying on young gays after the alleged victim, Tyler Clementi, committed suicide in 2010.

Jurors are to be asked to come to court starting Wednesday for deeper questioning.
