MY9TV.COM - A driver and bus matron could face serious charges after a child was left on a school bus for hours in sweltering heat. Nicole Johnson reports.

Word about a 4-year old Jersey City boy being left alone on a school bus for at least 5 hours in the sweltering heat is spreading quickly.

Police tell us the special needs child was picked up early in the morning headed here to P.S. 3 for camp, but instead was left on a school bus parked here several blocks away at a lot on Newark Avenue.

Now the bus driver and bus matron could be in serious trouble.

Around one this afternoon, a mechanic found the boy sleeping and called for help. Police tell us they have not been able to communicate with the child because of his disability. So they are questioning the adults to find out how this happened. Parents in the neighborhood are outraged. What happened to this little boy could of ended a lot worse.

The child was treated and released from the hospital he is in good condition. As for the bus driver and matron they have been fired and could face criminal charges. The mechanic is being called a hero. Nicole Johnson The 10'clock News.
