So many people lost power because of the storm and are still in the dark tonight.
So we set out to learn, how did your power company perform?

Weary flood victims drag ruined belongings to the curb. ... Four full days after Irene -- thousands still have NO power

"You must br very frustrated - I'm tired and wet and gross"

We visited flood victims in several towns and asked them to evaluate their utility's performance in this emergency: did they respond quickly?
"Did you get up to date information? Get your power back yet? What grade would you give them?
JCP&L --
Customer says: "I'd have to give them an F - there's no power. "
"I would give them a B-PLUS - it's not that we haven't seen them - they're out there doing things - there's just a lot to be done. "
Jersey Central Power and Light has to cover a lot of ground -- including the sparsely populated northwest -- and two hard-hit counties down the Shore. As of tonight: it's restored power to 619,000 customers -- with 51,000 STILL waiting for the lights to go on.

Middletown Mayor Tony Fiore told us -- "Trying to get answers from JCP&L has been an absolute nightmare" -- that it "was very poorly prepared."
Morano says: "We clearly know our customers are upset - we've heard from our customers loud and clear and we expect that and understand that. "
NJ's largest utility -- is PSE&G. Public Service Electric & Gas serves twice as many customers as JCP&L -- but they're located along a relatively accessible corridor. Still -- it's put more than THREE quarters OF A million customers back on line -- with only 7,500 to go. Grade?
Customer says: "I'd go with a B-Plus. But who am I to grade them? They're the experts! "
One NJ advocate's promising an investigation.
"We've got to get the lights back on -- but then we've got to take
a good look to see exactly what we can do - to do this better next time. "
