MY9TV.COM - Many people spent this Labor Day still struggling with flooded homes and blocked roads.
And lots more rain is coming.
The white house put Irene's cost to the Federal Government alone at a billion-and-a-half dollars.
Joann Pileggi has the latest from Paterson, where President Obama toured the damage.
Persistent problems in flood plagued Paterson. There is still no power for some residents, and the threat of more stormy weather and possible flooding brings more bad news.
James Cline is a resident of Paterson and most recently a flood victim. He tells us, "If we get another rain here, it's hopeless, right now trying to get back together in this city, we can't."
His basement belongings are curbside. James is not very optimistic about the forecast, which calls for more wet weather. He lives on Clinton Street in Paterson where they haven't had power since last Monday.
Around the corner from Clinton, Pastor James Salmon said that the expensive fence crushed, the inside of the church where the basement was already trashed by floodwater. A congregation suffering their own flood disaster.
Faith a little hard to come by on another street with no electricity still. Utiltity crews working with a police escort and resident are angry.
They will be closely watching the weather patterns, hoping the flood waters do not return. I'm JoAnn Pileggi. The 10 O'Clock News.
