Brenda Flanagan has worked for My9 News since May 1983. She started as the Trenton Bureau Chief where she covered political and general assignment events.

In 2001 she became a general assignment reporter and then joined the I-Team in November 2003. As an investigative reporter, Brenda won three Emmys for her special reports "Driving While Black," "Fast Parking Meters," and "Safe Escape."

Additionally, she received a Folio Award from the Fair Media Council of Long Island for her I-Team report "Driving While Black."

Before coming to My9 News, Brenda began her journalism career as a reporter for the Main Line Times in Merion, Pa. Then she became a reporter for NJ Network in Trenton, as well as some radio reporting.

Before moving to New Jersey, Brenda was born and raised in New Orleans, La. She lives in northern NJ and has two daughters, six cats and two dogs.
