EXECUTIVE PRODUCER - FOX 5/WNYW-TV

Responsibilities - This individual will oversee the creation, production and execution of the daily 5 and 6pm newscasts; maintain excellent journalistic standards for an engaging and relevant newscast, in a fair, accurate and balanced manner; oversee promotion and teases; lead breaking news coverage, and mentor producers and writers.

Requirements - Individual must be highly creative and team leader; excellent writing, organization and communication skills required; must be able to win in a highly competitive, fast paced market; 3-5 years as executive producer in large market newsroom; knowledge of New York City market helpful; must be flexible with days and hours.

NEWS MANAGING EDITOR - FOX 5/WNYW-TV

Responsibilities - Oversees all aspects of news coverage including daily assignments, coverage of big events, as well as planning; responsible for the manner in which breaking news is covered and how the desk reacts to big stories; oversees and mentors, and engages reporters, assists in the development of story ideas and execution; works to develop excellententerprise stories, cultivates and maintains great contacts with community sources and various governmental agencies.

Requirements - Prior experience as large-market experience as an assignment editor, with a strong knowledge of the New York market; must have 3-5 years as a manager in a major news market; knowledge of newsroom computer systems, satellite and microwave news gathering; must posses strong leadership/motivational skills.

FOX Television Stations, FOX 5/WNYW and My9/WWOR offers a hands-on six month training program for College Graduates interested in obtaining valuable experience in the various fields of Television Broadcasting. This training program requires no previous broadcast work experience, thereby, when the six months training period is completed, the goal is to provide the trainee with the prerequisite skills to acquire an entry-level position in the broadcasting field.

The Training Program offers:
Hands-on training with experts in the various fields of broadcasting; Access to staff employment opportunities pending availability and qualifications; Six months of employment which includes a full work week of 37½ hours at a pay rate of $7.15 per hour.

FOX Television Stations, FOX 5 WNYW and My9 WWOR has an ongoing internship program for college juniors and seniors majoring in broadcast communications and/or journalism, as well as other areas. Individuals have the opportunity to learn from trained professionals in various departments. Students must be able to receive college credit in order to be eligible for the program.
