A holiday heat wave is hitting a stretch of New Jersey.

It's expected to stick around a few days.

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat advisory from noon through 9 p.m. Monday for the area around Philadelphia, including New Jersey's Camden, Gloucester and Mercer Counties, along with northern Burlington County.

The same area is under an excessive heat watch from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday night.

High temperatures are expected to be in the mid-90s.

The rest of the state is under an air quality alert through Monday.
