Black Media Legends Honored

MY9TV.com - Members of the media, including several from My9 and Fox5 were honored at a celebration at the Waldorf-Astoria kicking off Black History Month.

They were recognized for their community service.

They came to be serenaded -- and celebrated! Black "Media Legends" -- honored at a gala sponsored by McDonalds!

 Brenda Blackmon said:- What a way to start Black History Month!

Our own Brenda Blackmon co-hosted the Ninth Annual Awards Luncheon ... at NY's Waldorf-Astoria -- where reporters, photographers, producers -- all were praised for their hard work and service to the community!

Brenda said: There are more faces from Fox5 and My9 that are being recognized -- and it's wonderful!! Because these are people who have really put in time -- in the media -- for decades.

Scott Pierce said: I'm excited - I've never been honored before!
So this is my first time -- I'm humbled...

 Fox5's Dari Alexander -- called up her co-worker and honoree --

Dari said: I want to welcome now my friend - my girl - Malachy Williams!


 In ten years - Malachy Williams advanced from trainee ... to producer...to PhD candidate!

Malachy said:- Im not a legend -- yet! But they've given me something to strive for! And Im extremely grateful!

All these honorees -- are role models -- inspiration for the NEXT generation. I'm Brenda Flanagan, My9 News
