(EndPlay Staff Reports) - From aristocrats to entertainers, a star-studded list of attendees gathered on Friday to witness the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

There were also some noticeable absences as the royal couple exchanged vows at Westminster Abbey.

Among the most notable in attendance were soccer player David Beckham and his wife Victoria, former Spice Girl turned fashion designer. USA Today reported that Beckham had worked with the prince when England unsuccessfully tried to land the 2018 World Cup.

The UK Daily Mail reported that Victoria wore a midnight blue boat neck tunic dress that was her own design, unveiled at the New York Fashion Week in February. It was designed to help conceal her baby bump and was more minimal than the Daily Mail said some had expected it to be.

Also in attendance was Guy Ritchie, ex-husband of pop star Madonna and a British filmmaker who directed "Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels," "Snatch" and "Revolver."

The comedian Rowan Atkinson, a.k.a Mr. Bean, made the list as he came to see the son of his buddy Prince Charles get married.

Musician Elton John, who performed "Candle in the Wind" at Princess Diana's funeral, attended with his partner filmmaker David Furnish.

Other famous guests as listed by USA Today included:

Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife Samantha.

English soul singer Joss Stone, who became friends with William after performing at a concert to mark the 10th anniversary of Princess Diana's death.

Photographer Mario Testino, who is known for his photographs of Princess Diana and who also shot the royal couple's official portrait photographs when they announced their engagement.

Olympic swimmer Ian Thorpe, founder of the charity Fountain of Youth.

Among those not in attendance was former Prime Minister Tony Blair, who told the UK Telegraph that he was not offended at being left off the guest list.

"I'm delighted for the royal couple," he said. "It is completely sensible to invite people from different walks of life instead of politicians."

England's Labour party criticized the royal family for not inviting Blair and former Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, also didn't make it onto the guest list while the her daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were.

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama failed to make the cut, a decision that the Huffington Post said was possibly because of security reasons.

The UK Daily Mail said that King of Cambodia Norodom Sihamoni was invited but said he had "something more important" to do. The Cambodian embassy did not expand on why except to say the king was "sad" he couldn't make it.
