(CANVAS STAFF REPORTS) - A Tampa Bay woman got upset when she saw teens acting out at the beach. She figured the best way to give them encouragement was to have them walk with God.
Tampa Bay Online reported that Shannon Hayes figured the best way to do that was to imprint beach flip-flops with scriptures.
"We hear so much about Christians walking the walk," she said to TBO. "So if you had a little reminder on your shoes, that could be a gentle nudge to stay in the word."
A business was born.
Walk the Walk flip-flops come in five colors and with five scriptures including Galatians 5:25, which states, "If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit."
"The intent is to gently remind you as well as others – to continue to 'walk in the right path,'" the website states.
They cost $19.99 per pair, plus $5 flat rate shipping. Each pair comes with a reusable burlap bag with a drawstring.
She introduced her line of flip-flips in October, first online and now at her first retail location at the Inspired Christian Gifts boutique shop in South Tampa.
