Education Conference
Newark Councilman Ron C. Rice West Ward Collective Education Committee is hosting an education conference titled "Promises Broken, Promises Kept: Bridging the Gap between Parents and Schools" on Saturday, May 17, 2008, to promote a better relationship between teachers, parents, and caring adults. Through this relationship, the committee hopes to improve student achievement in grades K-12. The full-day conference runs from 8:15 am to 3:15 pm and features workshops and panel discussions ranging from topics such as "Parents Are Teachers Too" to "Empowering Our African-American Males."
