TRENTON, N.J. (AP) —
Gov. Chris Christie has vetoed a slew of spending measures adopted over
the past week by New Jersey's Democrat-controlled Legislature.
The measures were passed on party-line votes and expected to be rejected by the Republican governor.
The
bills would have allocated $7.5 million to clinics that serve
low-income women, $66 million in taxes from utility companies that would
have been sent to municipal governments and money to fix a flood-prone
bridge in Garfield.
He also said no to a bill to raise some court fees to pay for an electronic filing system and legal aid for lower-income people.
