CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — A fatal shooting was the 8th
slaying in 10 days in Camden.
Some of the homicides in the deadly streak this month have been attributed to
a squabble within the G-Shine Bloods gang.
Thirty-two-year-old Luis Gonzalez was killed near the corner of 8th and Vine
Streets in North Camden and a second man was grazed by a bullet on Thursday.
The slaying was the 35th of the year in the city. The record for a year is 58
slayings in 1995.
Police Chief Scott Thomson tells The Courier-Post of Cherry Hill that
authorities are "throwing the kitchen sink at the problem."
