MORRISTOWN, N.J.
(AP) — A man awaiting trial on charges that he killed his father has
been indicted on charges that he conspired to attack another inmate at
the Morris County Jail.
Authorities say Brendon Matos and an
accomplice, Carlos Ramos-Roque, punched Alex Moreta and kicked him in
the face as part of a plan to get him out of their unit in jail.
Both
men are charged with aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit
aggravated assault in the March attack that fractured the alleged
victim's eye socket.
Matos is charged with killing his father in July 2011 so he could steal money and buy drugs.
