WATCHUNG, N.J. (AP) — Authorities arrested a man after a nearly five-hour standoff in Watchung.

Authorities received a report that a man was threatening to harm himself and others in a home on Johnson Drive Sunday afternoon.

Nearby homes were evacuated as the Somerset County SWAT team cordoned off the area.

The man was taken into custody by 8 p.m.

His name has not been released.
