EAST ORANGE, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a man walking his dog was struck and killed by a car that was being pursued by police in East Orange.

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office says 55-year-old Darroll Morris' dog, a Shih-Tzu, also was killed.

Three males and three females in the car were taken into custody.

The police pursuit is under investigation.

No other information is available.
