ALPINE, N.J.
(AP) — New Jersey authorities say a New York man was killed when his
car hit a tree on the northbound Palisades Interstate Parkway.
Twenty-five-year-old
Daniel McWeeney, of Garnerville was alone in his car when the crash
occurred early Monday at the entrance to the State Line Lookout in
Alpine. Authorities say it does not appear that any other vehicles were
involved in the accident.
It was not immediately clear what caused
the crash, which was reported just before 3 a.m. by a passing motorist.
McWeeney was found trapped inside his car and was pronounced dead at
the scene a short time later.
The State Line Lookout sits above the Hudson River and is the highest point on the Palisades Parkway.
