TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — A new poll shows President Barack
Obama continues to lead Mitt Romney in New Jersey.
The Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday finds Obama with a
7-percentage-point lead over the Republican nominee among likely voters in the
Garden State. A majority of respondents say the president will do a better job
on Medicare and health care, while Romney will do a better job on the
economy.
Fifty-two percent of respondents say they view Obama favorably, while 43
percent have a favorable view of Romney.
The poll also finds incumbent Democrat Bob Menendez holds a
10-percentage-point lead over his GOP challenger, state Sen. Joe Kyrillos.
The telephone survey of 1,471 likely voters was conducted from Aug. 27 to
Sept. 2. The margin of error is plus or minus 2.6 percentage
points.
