TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Weather-weary New Jerseyans may soon be dealing with another round of severe weather.
The
National Weather Service says a line of storms could bring damaging
winds, hail, heavy rain and possibly tornadoes to New Jersey by late
Saturday afternoon. That comes after heavy rains had soaked areas of the
state earlier in the day, though no damage was reported.
Severe
thunderstorm warnings were issued for most of the state, while a tornado
watch was in effect for Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic and Union
counties. All the advisories were due to remain in effect until late
Saturday.
Authorities say a tornado hit a beachfront neighborhood
in New York City on Saturday morning, causing widespread damage but no
injuries.
