Early evening in one Bryn Mawr neighborhood is family friendly. But when night falls the tiny kids go in and area college kids come out.
"Last night there were tons of people out till 1:30 almost 2 o'clock." Nicole Wilson says it's a problem especially on the weekends. She said, "You just hope that on Thursday nights, Fridays and Saturdays that you can get a good nights sleep. Kids are yelling and you hear bottles crashing on your sidewalk."
It's one of many concerns neighbors near Lancaster Avenue in Montgomery County have. Lancaster Avenue is party central with all the bars along the strip.
"That was just horrible. They would go up and down the avenue and hit all the bars all the way up," said Mary Gallagher.
After the bars close, residents say students use the neighborhoods as a cut-through to get back to the college campus. Or to off campus housing for an after hours party. Gallagher has seen it all on her street.
"Of course you had the problem with them coming to the lawns and urinating," she said. "They went up on a neighbor's car and jumped over the hood and landed on the hood of my car. They put two big dents in my hood," she said.
Neighbors say they try to maintain good relationships with the universities and landlords in the neighborhood who rent to students. They also say police do respond when they call but more needs to be done.
"More patrols closer to where you know there's hotspots, you know there's bars, and you know there's a lot of traffic," said Wilson.
