
HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) — Eight people face charges after a large brawl broke out at a northern New Jersey bar.
Hackensack police tell The Record (http://bit.ly/QzPVWU) that fight erupted inside the bar around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, and several combatants were using broken bottles as weapons. The fight soon spilled out onto the street and was broken up within 15 minutes of police arriving.
State police troopers and officers from several police departments responded to the bar to assist Hackensack police. No serious injuries were reported, though was one person was treated at the scene.
It's not clear what sparked the brawl.
Seven of the eight people arrested were charged with rioting, and one also was accused of aggravated assault on a police officer. The eighth person was charged with disorderly conduct.
