NJ man surrenders in police standoff

MATAWAN, N.J. (AP) — A police standoff ended when a man who barricaded himself in an apartment surrendered in Matawan.

Police evacuated nearby homes and closed roads for more than two hours Sunday night.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office tells the Asbury Park Press (http://on.app.com/SSnCVr ) 51-year-old James Wierzbicky surrendered around 9:30 p.m.

No one was injured.

No charges have been filed and the incident remains under investigation.
