BRIGHTON, N.Y. (AP) — A western New York school district says four high school students have been hospitalized after their car slammed into the back of a school bus carrying four young children, who escaped injury.
The Brighton Central School District says on its website that administrators and emergency crews were on the scene of the accident involving the bus from the Council Rock Primary School, a kindergarten through second grade school in the Rochester suburb.
The crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Photos on local media outlets show rescue workers trying to free a heavily damaged car wedged under the back of the bus.
Police say the bus was moving slowly and they're investigating the car's speed. The conditions of the injured teens weren't available. The school bus driver wasn't hurt.
