EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Contrasting traffic and
parking studies are being presented for a planned megamall and indoor amusement
park in New Jersey's Meadowlands.
The developer of the planned American Dream complex next to MetLife Stadium
says the New York Giants and New York Jets are overstating the impact on
game-day traffic.
A representative for developer Triple Five told the New Jersey Sports and
Exposition Authority Wednesday that up to 25 percent of visitors would likely
use mass transit.
The developer also said many potential visitors would stay away from the mall
on game days.
In his statement to the sports authority, Giants co-owner John Mara ridiculed
the study and said traffic and parking are now stretched to the limit and will
get worse.
The teams have sued over the mall's development.
